Ferrari Charles Leclerc fronted the times in the second practice session at Formula 1’s Azerbaijan Grand Prix, heading Red Bull’s Sergio Perez by 0.006 seconds.
The Monegasque, who has secured pole position on F1’s three previous visits to Baku, headed Perez and Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton, who ended up 0.065s back.
Carlos Sainz was fourth in the second Ferrari, with Oscar Piastri leading McLaren’s charge to round out the top five. Max Verstappen resided sixth, 0.545s behind.
Lance Stroll placed his Aston Martin into seventh, with Mercedes’ George Russell in ninth place splitting the Haas cars, Nico Hulkenberg heading Oliver Bearman.
