The Finn made no mistakes, leading from start to finish to head up a Toyota Gazoo Racing 1-2, beating out teammate Sebastian Ogier in the process.. Ott Tanak salvaged a podium for Hyundai.

The Toyota Gazoo Racing steamroller continued unabated on Sunday with Sebastian Ogier taking the fastest time on the opening stage. Rovanpera was second quickest, 1.4 seconds shy with a fired-up Ott Tanak another 0.7 seconds further back.

Thereafter, Tanak went hell-for-leather to secure maximum Super Sunday points which he succeeded in doing, winning the final three stages including the Wolf Power Stage and duly took not only the 12 points up for grabs, but the final place on the podium as well after the rally gods unleashed their wrath on from a sure-fire podium all the way down to seventh. “It was the first corner. We don’t know if it’s a diff problem or something like that. We understood that it was over. I think we showed our pace and made sure everyone was happy,”

Thierry Neuville still leads the title chase with 145 points but he is only eight points ahead of Tanak, while Evans has slipped down to third.

Toyota Gazoo Racing’s strategy of fielding their entire fleet paid dividends this weekend, and all the drivers scored points and they are a single point behind rivals Hyundai Shell Mobis WRT.

Oliver Solberg stormed into the lead of the WRC2 championship after securing the victory of Tet Rally Latvia on Sunday. The 22-year-old Swede led from start to finish on the high-speed gravel fixture, taking out maximum points in his Škoda Fabia RS Rally2 to overtake Sami Pajari and Yohan Rossel
