Aron bounced back from a difficult weekend in Silverstone with a pole position ahead of Enzo Fittipaldi and championship rival Isack Hadjar

Zane Maloney, who set the pace in Free Practice earlier today was the first one to set a lap of 1:32:668 but he was running on the hard tyres.

Briefly after, McLaren junior Gabriel Bortoleto smashed Maloney’s time with the soft tyres, setting the three purple sectors and moving up to the provisional pole with a 1:30:269.

ART’s Victor Martins went into second, with Franco Colapinto in third and championship leader Isack Hadjar in fourth.

After switching to softs, Maloney improved to P2 right behind Bortoleto with a 1:30:515

Hadjar’s main championship rival Paul Aron went into tenths before the first red flag of the session was summoned.

Pepe Martí spun into Turn 11, the exact same corner and incident as the one he suffered in the free practice session.

The session resumed briefly after but the majority of the drivers were waiting for their moment before going out for another attempt

Bortoleto went out for another attempt, but he wasn’t able to improve his own time.

Cars went out but just for an outlap, as the majority went back into the pitlane with 10 minutes to go.

Just one minute after, all the drivers went out for their final stints.

Enzo Fittipaldi was the first to open his flying lap, going into provisional pole position for the Van Amersfoort Racing team.

Nonetheless, Paul Aron was the fastest around the second sector and went into the provisional pole just 68 milliseconds ahead of Fittipaldi.

Hadjar, despite setting the fastest first second was only able to improve to third. Meanwhile, Victor Martins set the fifth-fastest time.

Bortoleto improved his laptime but remained fourth in the time screens.

Crawford, who was improving had a moment into Turn 11, which has been a problematic corner in both F3 and F2 due to the tail wind affecting the car stability.

Aron was improving his own time, but his tyres didn’t hold until the end of the lap and the Estonian driver didn’t improve despite setting a fastest sector two.

Fittipaldi, Hadjar and Bortoleto all three pitted, as their tyres weren’t allowing them to improve the times at all.

This meant another pole for Paul Aron and the Hitech team. Aron bounced back from a difficult event in Silverstone, where he lost his point-scoring streak after an incident with Pepe Martí.

Fittipaldi and Hadjar completed the top three, with Bortoleto and Martins rounding up the top five.

Dennis Hauger, Andrea Kimi Antonelli, Zane Maloney, Kush Maini and Richard Verschoor completed the top 10 for the qualifying session in Hungary.
