Lando Norris led the first Free Practice session around the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve limited by the weather conditions. The Ferrari duo with Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc completed the top three.
Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton finished fourth, with Max Verstappen fifth and Oscar Piastri sixth.
Alpine’s Pierre Gasly saw the chequered flag in seventh, with Sauber’s Valtteri Bottas in eighth.
Sergio Perez and George Russell completed the top 10.
