Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc set an unbeatable benchmark to top the second Formula 1 practice session of the 2024 Monaco Grand Prix.
Leclerc’s 1:11.278s time was 0.188s better than Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton, who was fastest in FP1.
After a dismal weekend at Imola, Fernando Alonso’s fortunes looked to be turning as he set the third-fastest time, 0.475s adrift of Leclerc.
Max Verstappen was more than half a second adrift in fourth, with McLaren’s Lando Norris completing the top five.
Carlos Sainz was 0.684s back from his Ferrari team-mate in sixth with seventh-placed Lance Stroll ensuring both Astons were in the top-10.
Sergio Perez, an impressive Alex Albon and George Russell rounded out the top-10.
