Proton Competition’s Julien Andlauer leads the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps with an hour gone, with a 7 second gap to Antonio Giovinazzi in the #51 Ferrari.

Andlauer, onboard the #99 Proton Porsche 963, started third behind Porsche’s Fred Makowiecki and Cadillac’s Alex Lynn. Makowiecki inherited pole position after the initial polesitter, the #50 Ferrari 499P, was disqualified and demoted to the back of the Hypercar grid.

Andlauer made short work of Lynn in the #2 Cadillac V-Series.R, who now sits eighth after dropping through the field. He then set about chasing Makowiecki, who had retained the lead at the start, overtaking him mid way through the first hour and since extending a comfortable gap by the end of the first hour.

After the pit stop cycle, Giovinazzi was able to pass Makowiecki, assuming second position, enabling him to begin chasing down Andlauer.

Giovinazzi started 10th in the #51 Ferrari and has climbed through the field, and is looking quick as Ferrari looks to earn redemption for their strategy error at Imola.

Robert Kubica in the #83 AF Corse Ferrari sits fourth, with Laurens Vanthoor fifth in the sister factory #6 Porsche.

Over in LMGT3, Iron Dames’s Sarah Bovy leads with a massive 30 second lead after just one hour. The Belgian retained the lead at the start and hasn’t looked back since, staying in the #85 Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2 for another stint after making the car’s first pitstop of the race.

James Cottingham sits second in the #59 United Autosports McLaren 720S GT3 Evo, but he’s got a mountain to climb to catch Bovy. Yasser Shahin is third in the #91 Manthey EMA Porsche 911 GT3R
