The Red Flag was waved just a few corners into the Formula 1 Japanese Grand Prix as Daniel Ricciardo and Alex Albon came together.

Heading into the Turn 3 left-hander at Suzuka, Ricciardo moved to the right to avoid traffic on his left-hand side, unaware that Albon was on his right.

The pair touched, spinning off track and shunting into the barriers.

Both drivers were unharmed in the incident but their races were done and the Red Flag was flown.
