Sebastian Vettel claimed a stunning pole position for the Singapore Grand Prix which sees him start four places ahead of his title rival and championship leader Lewis Hamilton.
Ferrari looked down on pace in the opening 20 minutes, but they were clearly hiding their pace, only revealing it in Q3 when it mattered most as Vettel eased to the top spot with a time of 1:39.491 to go 0.323s quicker than Red Bull's Max Verstappen.
The Red Bulls were second and third with Daniel Ricciardo just 0.026s down on his team-mate, whilst Kimi Raikkonen completes the second row, much to Hamilton and Mercedes' disappointment.
Hamilton was 0.635s down on Vettel's time, but seven-tenths quicker than his own team-mate Valtteri Bottas in sixth ahead of the Renault of Nico Hulkenberg.
The McLarens were eighth and ninth with Fernando Alonso the quicker of the two. Carlos Sainz completed the top ten.
Jolyon Palmer narrowly missed out on a Q3 spot in 11th ahead of Sergio Perez, Daniil Kvyat and Esteban Ocon in 14th.
The Williams pair struggled with both Felipe Massa and Lance Stroll failing to escape Q1.
