Charles Leclerc went fastest in final practice for the Australian Grand Prix, setting a benchmark of 1:16.714s.
The Ferrari driver ended the session 0.020s ahead of closest rival Max Verstappen. Carlos Sainz and Lewis Hamilton, third and fourth respectively, were both also within a tenth of Leclerc’s best lap.
George Russell followed in fifth ahead of Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso, Sergio Perez and Oscar Piastri.
Lance Stroll was ninth fastest ahead of Lando Norris who completed the top ten.
Alex Albon returned to the cockpit to finish 13th, but at the cost of the sidelined Logan Sargeant. Albon was favoured by Williams Team Principal James Vowles to pilot the team’s sole remaining chassis this weekend.
