Formula 1’s tyre supplier Pirelli will take the three softest tyre compounds to the United States Grand Prix.
The ultrasoft, supersoft and soft tyres will be used at the Circuit of the Americas in Texas, which hosts the US GP in October.
Each driver must save one of the softest of the nominated compounds for Q3, and have a set of supersofts and softs available for the race – and use at least one of them.
The remaining 10 sets are chosen by the teams, making 13 sets in total, and these are revealed closer to the race.
It is the eighth time the three softest tyre compounds have been selected so far this year, also being used at this weekend’s Austrian GP.
They have also been chosen for Belgium and Singapore too.
