Robert Kubica has admitted he would like to make a "proper comeback" to Formula 1 following his test with Renault earlier this week.
Kubica got behind the wheel of an F1 car for the first time since his rally crash in 2011, in which he suffered serious injuries to his right-arm.
The test, which was organised by Renault, put the Polish driver in a Lotus E20 at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo on Tuesday, with Kubica lapping the circuit 115 times.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Kubica says the test has proven his ability to drive an F1 car competitively and for an extended period of time, which he hopes will lead to a comeback in the future.
"I felt like a kid again," said the 32-year-old. "It was a special feeling for me and I got quickly back what I had when I was racing in F1.
"The feeling was good, also it felt like being back at home. For sure, it's a new start for me. I don't know what it will bring, but definitely it is a nice feeling to know I can drive an F1 car after such a difficult period and my rehabilitation.
"To know that I can drive the car at good pace and I can run the car for an entire Grand Prix distance is something that makes me happy and proud.
"After I have done this test, I would like to test more but that doesn't depend only on my side. I will keep working and hopefully I will have a chance to go forward, and step by step maybe have a proper comeback."
