Estrella Galicia 0.0 has maintained its involvement in Formula 1 by returning to McLaren as the team’s official beer partner from 2024 after three years of sponsoring Ferrari.
The Spanish beer brand has backed the career of Carlos Sainz since 2013 and has preserved its ties with the current Ferrari driver across his multiple F1 career moves.
After spells associated with Toro Rosso, Renault and McLaren, Estrella Galicia switched across to Ferrari with Sainz in 2021, where it has remained for the last three years.
However, Ferrari had already announced last January that it had struck a multi-year agreement with Asahi Europe and International Ltd to effectively replace the company.
It has since been revealed that the Italian marque will run branding related to Peroni’s non-alcoholic products. The Italian brand had sponsored Aston Martin since 2021.
But Estrella Galicia has opted to remain in F1 and has renewed terms with McLaren, with the Woking-based squad having prized Monster Energy away from Mercedes.
“We’re thrilled to have Estrella Galicia back racing with us as official beer partner,” McLaren CEO Zak Brown expressed.
“With a great tradition within F1, Estrella Galicia is a brand that matches our energy for innovation, and we’re excited to have them alongside us once more as we go into the new season.”
Estrella Galicia Chief Marketing Officer Jose Cabanas added: “As part of our internationalisation process having great partners alongside you is a key factor for success.
“McLaren Racing and Estrella Galicia not only share common values such as authenticity, craftmanship, and innovation but also a strong spirit of differentiation and a non-conformist attitude in everything they do.
“We are thrilled to start a new chapter in our F1 journey in papaya colours and I’m sure that we will have great things to toast for during the season.”
