Mirko Bortolotti put Lamborghini on pole position for tomorrow's Blancpain GT Series Sprint Cup qualifying race at Brands Hatch with a stunning lap around the 2.4 mile grand prix circuit.
Driving the Grasser Racing Lamborghini Huracan GT3, Bortolotti shot to the top of the order with a time of 1:22.891s to head the 15-minute shootout.
That put the Italian exactly half a second ahead of his nearest challenger: Audi factory driver Christopher Mies in the #1 Team WRT Audi R8 LMS.
Bortolotti will share the Lamborghini with Christian Engelhart during the pair of one-hour races on Sunday, while Mies teams with defending GT Series Sprint Cup champion Enzo Ide.
Despite the relatively wide time margin, 16 out of the 17 cars in the final qualifying session ran to within a second of the pole figure.
Third quickest was the ROWE Racing BMW M6 of Jesse Krohn, who ended up 0.064 seconds off a spot on the front row.
Completing the top five were Norbert Sielder in the second Grasser Racing Lamborghini and Christopher Haase in the best-placed Sainteloc Racing Audi R8 LMS.
Pro-Am pole position went to the AKKA ASP Mercedes AMG-GT3 driven by Daniel Juncadella and Felix Serralles, which scored an identical time to the Sainteloc car.
The Blancpain GT Series Sprint Cup-leading Mercedes driven by Maximilian Buhk and Franck Perera will start tomorrow's midday race from tenth on the grid.
