McLaren Formula 1 driver Fernando Alonso has visited the Andretti Autosport factory and completed his seat fitting for the Indianapolis 500.
The Spaniard will make his IndyCar debut at the iconic race next month, missing the Monaco Grand Prix to compete at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
The McLaren entry with Honda power will be run by the Andretti team, with Alonso’s factory visit following a trip to last weekend’s Grand Prix of Alabama.
He spent time at the Barber Motorsports Park talking to the media, checking out the cars and catching up with the drivers he will go up against.
While at the Andretti factory on Monday, Alonso competed his seat fitting for the Indy 500. His first taste of driving the car will come at a test on May 3.
He also got the chance to look at the Borg-Warner Trophy, which is awarded to the winner of the Indy 500.
Alonso will be replaced for the Monaco GP by his former team-mate and 2009 F1 champion Jenson Button.
