Williams has confirmed that Logan Sargeant will remain with the team in Formula 1 next season, completing the full 2024 grid.
Sargeant stepped up to Formula 1 with Williams for 2023 and endured a challenging rookie campaign, with a spate of incidents and setbacks, and was largely shaded by Alex Albon.
He picked up his maiden championship point at the US Grand Prix, becoming the first American to do so since 1993.
Williams opted to wait until after the season before evaluating Sargeant’s campaign and on Friday announced that he will stay alongside Albon for 2024.
“I am thrilled to be continuing with Williams Racing for the 2024 season,” said Sargeant.
“It has been an incredible journey with the team so far, and I am grateful for the opportunity to continue developing as a driver within such a talented and dedicated group.
“We have exciting plans for the future, and I can’t wait to contribute to the team’s success in the coming year.”
Williams finished seventh in this year’s Constructors’ Championship.
“I am pleased to continue our journey with Logan into the 2024 season,” said Team Principal James Vowles.
“Logan has demonstrated immense skill whilst under the pressure of the world stage, making him a perfect fit for our team. We have great confidence in his abilities and believe that together we can achieve even greater success in the upcoming season.”
