The start of the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup season is closing in, with four drivers returning to action as part of a tyre test.
Chip Ganassi’s Jamie McMurray, Hendrick Motorsports’ Chase Elliott, Team Penske’s Joey Logano and Joe Gibbs Racing’s Matt Kenseth will take part in the Goodyear test.
The two-day event takes place from the 10-11 January at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway in Nevada.
Kenseth will be the first driver to take to the track at the wheel of the new Toyota Camry NASCAR machine, which will debut at the test.
It will be useful preparation for the new season and, in particular, the Kobalt 400 at Las Vegas in March.
There are seven tyre tests scheduled to take place throughout the season, with other locations including the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the Kentucky Speedway.
The first NASCAR test open to all, but limited to one team per organisation, takes place at the Phoenix International Raceway from the 31 January to 1 February.
