Nico Hulkenberg looks set to jump ship from Force India to Renault for the 2017 season, with an agreement in place between the two parties, which would see the German leading Renault's factory outfit.
Although Hulkenberg has a contract with Force India, it's believed to contain a get out clause which can be actioned by Hulkenberg if he feels a better deal is available.
Renault meanwhile are looking for an experienced racer to lead the team as it seeks to climb up the pecking order and establish itself as a leading outfit amongst the likes of Red Bull, Ferrari and Mercedes.
The Enstone team has already approached Valtteri Bottas, Carlos Sainz and Sergio Perez, but all have agreed deals with their current teams for next season.
Hulkenberg has yet to sign Renault's minimum two-year offer, but is believed to be seriously considering it and is likely to make a decision in the coming weeks.
Should he opt against it, Renault are likely to retain the services of Kevin Magnussen, whilst dumping British rookie Jolyon Palmer in favour of Esteban Ocon.
