Renault has spent a further three engine development tokens on its power unit for the Singapore Grand Prix, however with only one upgraded unit available this weekend, it has been given to Red Bull's Max Verstappen.
Verstappen was out of sync compared to the other Renault-powered cars, with team-mate Daniel Ricciardo and Renault's Kevin Magnussen and Jolyon Palmer on four of the majority of their power unit components prior to this weekend. Verstappen had only used three of everything but his control electronics, of which he's used five.
Therefore the Dutch driver will receive his fourth internal combustion engine (ICE), turbocharger, MGU-H and MGU-K.
The token spend leaves Renault with 18 tokens as it has taken a cautious approach to development this season, choosing not to rush through upgrades without thoroughly testing them, which seems to have worked as the engine is now closer in performance to its rivals.
Mercedes have six tokens remaining, Honda three and Ferrari have zero, having spent its final few at their home race in Monza.
Ricciardo, Magnussen and Palmer will receive the upgrade during their next power unit change.
