The Sauber F1 Team have confirmed that Ruth Buscombe has joined the Swiss team as its continues its recruitment drive, following a recent takeover by Longbow Finance.
Buscombe previously held the role of race strategist at Ferrari before moving to newcomer Haas when they made their debut. The two however parted ways in June this year, despite a strong run of results for the American team under her guidance.
Buscombe has now accepted the same role at Sauber, as the team looks to boost its on-track performance ahead of 2017 following a disappointing start to the current campaign which sees them languishing in last, behind Manor.
Buscombe's appointment is one of many, with Sauber recently confirming that Max Verstappen's ex-engineer Xevi Pujolar will take on the role of head of track engineering and Nicolas Hennel de Beaupreau as its new head of aerodynamics.
The team is also looking to fill the role of technical director following Mark Smith's departure earlier this year.
