Trident driver Giuliano Alesi has been given a grid penalty for the next GP3 round in Hungary after contact at Silverstone.
The French driver collided with DAMS racer Jake Hughes during the second race of the British GP3 round.
The stewards deemed Alesi, who is the son of F1 race winner Jean, hit the brakes too late at Turn 15.
The mistake caused the Trident car to collide with Hughes. Alesi failed to finish the race while Hughes crossed the line in 17th.
The three-place grid drop for Alesi will be applied for race one of the next GP3 round, which takes place in Hungary later this month.
His team-mate Antonio Fuoco went on to win the second GP3 race at Silverstone.
