Alex Palou left Portland with the 2023 IndyCar title secured by winning the race in convincing fashion. The 26-year-old earned his second IndyCar championship in the past three seasons and his fifth win of the year.
Scott Dixon had a slim chance to take the title for himself, but a third place run was not enough to keep the gap between himself and his team-mate small enough to overcome.
Felix Rosenqvist was the third driver on the podium in Portland, slotting in between the two Ganassi drivers with a strong race for him and the Arrow McLaren team.

The opening corner was relatively incident free, but Romain Grosjean and Callum Ilott came together halfway around the lap and left the Frenchman with a broken front suspension.
The final race of the season takes place in just one week, with Laguna Seca playing host to the finale.
