Ferrari team boss Maurizio Arrivabene has slammed recent reports that James Allison is set to depart the Italian outfit in favour of a return to Renault, as the French manufacturer embarks on recruitment drive to bolster its own outfit.
Arrivabene said such rumours showed a "lack of respect" in light of Allison's recent tragedy, in which he lost his wife to meningitus earlier this year.
"It's absolutely not true," Arrivabene is quoted as saying by Motorsport when asked about the rumours. "James is our technical director. He went through a very difficult period that I would not wish on anyone to go through.
"Talking about him in the way I have read in the last few days, it shows a lack of respect, I am sorry to say so.
"We're all around him and he with us. And this is the most important thing."
Allison has committed his future to Ferrari, confirming to the team he isn't considering a move to Renault, after Ferrari allowed him greater freedom to return to the UK to see his children at more regular periods.
