Esteban Ocon and Kevin Magnussen will share testing duties during the two-day in-season test which follows the Spanish Grand Prix next weekend.
The Renault reserve driver will not only get an entire day of running in the RS.16, but he will also participate in FP1, replacing Jolyon Palmer after Magnussen stood aside for Sergey Sirotkin in Russia.
Under 2016 testing regulations, teams must run a young driver for at least half of the four in-season test days this year – with the second two-day test taking place on the Tuesday and Wednesday after the British GP.
The Frenchman, who is on loan from Mercedes, is set to make his DTM debut this weekend for the German outfit following his GP3 Series win last season.
His F1 experience includes driving for Renault under its previous Lotus ownership during the 2014 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix practice session.
