Top three teams opt for different Russian GP tyre strategies

Pirelli has unveiled which tyre compounds each driver has selected for round four, the Russian Grand Prix, with the top three teams opting for different strategies altogether.

Whilst every driver bar Manor's Pascal Wehrlein and Rio Haryanto have opted for a single set of the Medium compound, strategy varies wildly when it comes to Soft and Supersoft selection.

Championship leader Nico Rosberg and team-mate Lewis Hamilton have both opted for four sets of the Soft compound and eight of the Supersoft, which could see them lean toward a three-stop strategy.

Ferrari's pairing of Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen have gone down the middle with six of the Soft and Supersoft compound each, opening up various strategy options for the Italian outfit.

Meanwile Red Bull's Daniel Ricciardo and Daniil Kvyat have favoured the Supersoft compound, choosing just two of the Soft and ten of the Supersoft.

The remainder of the field has also favoured the Supersoft, with Ferrari and Haas the two outfits with the least number of sets of the softest compound.
