CarGroov: Helps you find your car radio code
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

As a car owner, chances are you have encountered a problem… your car radio does not tune in to your favourite station or play the carefully curated playlist you love. The culprit behind this inconvenience could be a security code.

Certain car radios have an anti-theft mechanism that activates whenever they lose power. As a result, the unit becomes locked until the correct car radio code is inputted. This code is unique to the radio’s specific make, model, and unit.

CarGroov understands the importance of a smooth ride and how a fully functional car radio can elevate your driving experience. As a result, they have prepared this guide on how to find your car radio code.

Before contacting CarGroov to retrieve your car radio code, there is a promising possibility of finding it right from the comfort of your driver’s seat.

The first places to look out for are:

Glove box – Some automobile manufacturers cleverly place stickers containing the car radio codes on the glove box.

Vehicle owner’s manual – Some car codes are written down in the stereo or security section of your car’s manual. If not, the code could be discreetly placed on a small piece of paper or a plastic card inside the manual.

Ask the previous owner – In the case of a second-hand car purchase, consider reaching out to the previous owner. There’s a chance they might have recorded the code or retained an original copy.

If your search for the code using the methods mentioned earlier hasn’t been fruitful, don’t lose hope just yet. There are still a few other avenues you can explore:

Reaching Out to CarGroov

CarGroov is the leading car radio code unlocking service in the UK. They specialise in retrieving car radio codes for various car brands, including Audi, Nissan, Volkswagen, Ford, Skoda, Renault, and Fiat. To get your car radio code:

1. Find Your Radio’s Serial Number

To begin the process of assisting you in recovering your car radio code, the primary requirement is the radio’s unique serial number. This alphanumeric identifier is often written on a sticker on the radio’s side. Sometimes, the serial number can also be readily visible on the display screen.

2. Get Your Car Radio Code

Once you’ve acquired the unique identification of your car radio, you can access the CarGroov platform to get your personalised unlock code. An expert team will promptly retrieve your code. However, this comes at a cost, but they do it for free for some radio codes.

3. Input the Sent Code into the Car Radio

After obtaining your radio code, type it into your car radio’s keypad. After that, your radio will be unlocked.

Official OEM Car Radio Code Sources

To acquire the car radio code from the original equipment manufacturer (OEM), you can contact your local dealer or directly request the code from the manufacturer.

Most car manufacturers usually send you to your nearby dealer, but a few allow online code requests. Before proceeding, you need to have the following:

  • Car’s make, model, and manufacturing year
  • The Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)
  • The radio’s brand, serial number, and part number

Alternatively, you can take your car to the dealer, and their service department will identify the radio’s serial number and input the code for you. Some manufacturers with online code lookup let you input your VIN, radio’s serial number, and contact details (phone and email). They then email you the code.
