Pirelli says the issues experienced by Felipe Massa and Kevin Magnussen during first practice for the Chinese Grand Prix were not tyre related.
Massa’s Williams suffered two tyre failures during the opening session of the weekend at the Shanghai International Circuit, with the first causing a red flag.
Magnussen then picked up a puncture later in FP1, with the Renault driver also causing the session to be briefly stopped.
Following investigations, Pirelli has confirmed that all three incidents were not caused by tyre problems.
Instead the failures were down to other technical problems unrelated to the Italian supplier's 2016 tyre range.
A full investigation has concluded that none of the deflations for Williams and Renault in #FP were tyre related. Separate technical issue.
