Manor debutant Rio Haryanto has been struck with a three-place grid penalty for the season opening Australian Grand Prix, following a collision with Romain Grosjean in the pitlane at the start of practice three.
Whilst practically the entire field scrambled to take to the track at the start of the final practice session, Haryanto left his garage right into the path of Grosjean’s Haas.
The two made light contact, which left Grosjean requiring vast repairs to the floor of his car and therefore stuck in the garage for the majority of the session.
With Haryanto ending final practice 22nd and last, the penalty almost guarantees the Indonesian racer a spot on the final row of the grid.
