Honda's Marc Marquez topped the final day of the Phillip Island test day, with running punctuated by several crashes and a rain shower, with limited on-track time.

The start of the session was dry, unlike the previous two days, allowing for some meaningful running, with Marquez and overall pacesetter Maverick Vinales trading fastest laps.

However the session was paused as both Marc VDS riders, Tito Rabat and Jack Miller, fell on the same lap, bringing out a short red flag as their bikes were recovered.

There was an unusuably large number of tumbles, with Vinales and team-mate Aleix Espargaro falling, along with Tech 3 Yamaha rider Pol Espargaro in the morning.

A rain shower then arrived which lasted just over two hours. It eventually dried enough for some to venture out, but it wasn't long before more riders fell.

Aleix Espargaro and Rabat both fell for a second time, whilst Bradley Smith, Cal Crutchlow, Danilo Petrucci, Eugene Laverty and Jorge Lorenzo joined them during the afternoon.

All escaped unharmed bar Petrucci, who was sent to the medical centre for analysis after complaining ot pain in his wrist. It was later confirmed he has fractured his right-hand in the fall.

The pace once again closed up during the day, with the top 15 riders covered by a second.
