Pascal Wehrlein has confirmed his permanent race number after securing a seat on the 2016 Formula 1 grid with Manor Racing.
The German driver will race with the number 94, which has double significance to Wehrlein as not only is it the number he raced with in DTM last year when he secured the championship, but it is also his year of birth.
"I will carry the #94 again which I ran in DTM last year," he confirmed on Wednedsay. "It’s just because I was born in 1994."
Wehrlein has previously used #24 and #34 during testing duties with Mercedes and Force India respectively.
He is the second rookie set to join the grid this season, with Renault's Jolyon Palmer confirming he will race with the number 30.
