Jules Bianchi’s funeral took place on Tuesday morning in Nice at the Sainte Reparate Cathedral, with hundreds of mourners present to pay their respects.
The Frenchman passed away on Friday after sustaining injuries during a crash at the Japanese Grand Prix, which left him in hospital for nine months, before he succumbed to his head trauma.
In attendance were family, fans and stars from the F1 world, including Lewis Hamilton, Jenson Button, Sebastian Vettel, Romain Grosjean, Nico Rosberg, Felipe Massa, Daniel Ricciardo, Daniil Kvyat, Marcus Ericsson and Roberto Merhi.
Former drivers Adrian Sutil, Alain Prost, Jean-Eric Vergne and Marussia team-mate Max Chilton were also in attendance alongside Manor sporting director Graeme Lowdon and team principal John Booth.
The cathedral walls were adorned with two large pictures of Bianchi dressed in Marussia overalls, whilst flowers and wreaths were laid beside them by mourners.
Speaking after, Ferrari development driver Vergne told Sky Sports: “Today has been a special day.
“One of the greatest drivers has left us, but with such a beautiful souvenir. He has been a great person, outside and on the track.
“His name will stay written in the history of Formula 1. He has done a lot. He is with the greatest now, and he will always be in our hearts.”
A number of drivers gathered at a local bar later to toast Bianchi’s life (pictured below).
