Gabriel Bortoleto has taken pole position for the Feature Race at Albert Park.
The session was heavily interrupted with several drivers making mistakes throughout.
An early red flag was deployed when Pepe Marti, who won the Sprint Race in Bahrain earlier this month, had a sizeable collision at the Turn 9/10 chicane.
Kaylen Frederick also was responsible for a red flag being issued as he shunted with four minutes remaining on the clock at the final corner.
The drivers were able to get back onto the circuit for one final lap, with Bortoleto, the Bahrain Feature Race winner, capitalising to take pole.
There was another incident at the final corner as the clock ticked to zero, with Nikita Bedrin hitting the wall hard.
Gregoire Saucy also looked to be in contention for pole position throughout but had to settle for second behind Bortoleto.
Bahrain pole-sitter Gabriel Mini was third but locked up into the first corner at the end of the session, going deep into the gravel trap.
Leonardo Fornaroli was fourth in the second Trident, leading the Prema duo of Zak O’Sullivan and Paul Aron.
Franco Colapinto held the top spot before the second red flag, but dropped down to seventh by the chequered flag.
Dino Beganovic was eighth, with Luke Browning and Caio Collet rounding out the top 10.
Sebastian Montoya will being the Sprint Race from reverse grid pole position after qualifying in 12th and will share the front row with Oliver Goethe.
