Aston Martin has presented its AMR23 at its growing campus at Silverstone as it bids to move forward in Formula 1.
Aston Martin returned to Formula 1 in 2021 after the entity known as Racing Point was rebranded by owner Lawrence Stroll.
It has since secured low-key seventh place finishes in the Constructors’ Championship.
Aston Martin began 2022 slowly with a flawed concept but re-established itself in Formula 1’s midfield after introducing a heavily revised AMR22 part-way into the season.
Aston Martin heads into 2023 with a revised driver pairing of Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll.
Alonso, Formula 1’s most experienced driver, signed a multi-year Aston Martin deal after spending two seasons with Alpine.
Stroll, son of team co-owner Lawrence, continues at the squad where he has raced since 2019.
Formula 2 champion Felipe Drugovich and former McLaren racer Stoffel Vandoorne will act as Aston Martin’s reserve drivers.
Aston Martin is now only a couple of months away from moving into its new factory at Silverstone, which is adjacent to the existing facility which it has inhabited since its foundation as Jordan in 1991.
Aston Martin is also constructing a new wind tunnel, which it expects to be operational in time for the 2025 car project, while work on a third building – and bridges to link its campus – is due to begin after the existing factory is demolished mid-year.
The AMR23 is due to run for the first time at Silverstone on Wednesday.
