Alfa Romeo is the first team that has hit the track with its 2023 Formula 1 car, as it conducts a shakedown from Barcelona.
The C43 was launched earlier this week and caught the eye of many technical enthusiasts, particularly around the floor area which featured jagged cuts.
Alfa Romeo was the first team to showcase its actual 2023 car, as the three teams that held a launch before the Italian squad simply showcased their liveries for the upcoming season.
However, it was likely that the launch version of the car would not be the same version that hit the track for the shakedown.
That is what has happened, with the floor area that caused intrigue on launch day appearing different from the renders that were showcased earlier this week.
Teams are allowed two shakedown runs per year outside of official test and weekend session events, with running restricted to 100km while non-race spec Pirelli tyres must be used.
The runs are often used for filming and advertising purposes, as well as allowing teams to get an initial understanding of the challengers.
Alfa Romeo enters the 2023 campaign hoping to build upon its sixth-place finish from last year.
Despite obtaining its highest result since it took over naming rights of the Sauber team in 2019, Alfa Romeo endured a number of gremlins throughout the 2023 season.
Speaking recently at the launch, Technical Director Jan Monchaux has highlighted the areas it needs to build upon for the new year.
