The NTT IndyCar Series has confirmed dates and locations for the first eight races of the 2027 season.
Spring races will closely align with this year’s schedule, and only minor changes have been made to the calendar following what has been commonly described as a successful early season format.
The first race of the year will once again be held on the streets of St. Petersburg, with March 7 being the date of the event.
Three races will be held on consecutive weekends to start the season, just as they did in 2026. Following St. Petersburg, drivers will be tested on Phoenix Raceway and the Streets of Arlington in quick succession.
The race in Phoenix will be held on Saturday, as the series once again joins NASCAR to play part to a joint racing weekend for fans.
Barber Motorsports Park returns on April 4, followed by Long Beach on April 18 for the 43rd running of the iconic event. Following Long Beach, a nearly month-long gap pauses the action until the return to Indianapolis.
The traditional Month of May schedule remains intact, with a race around the IMS road course followed by Indianapolis 500 qualifying the following weekend, and the famous race itself one week later on May 30.
Detroit is also confirmed to take place on June 6, with its expected location just after the famous race.
Just as has been the case since FOX took over as broadcast partner, all races of the 2027 season will be shown live on over-the-air FOX channels.
There will be two open tests as well, with the Unser IndyCar Open Test on February 23-24 at Phoenix Raceway. The Indianapolis 500 Open Test will occur May 4-5.
The second half of the calendar is expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
