Lando Norris has teased the possibility of testing for Formula E in the future while attending this year’s Monaco E-Prix.

Reigning Formula 1 world champion Norris attended Monaco last weekend, a guest of Andretti’s Jake Dennis to see the all electric series in action.

Spending time in the pit lane and paddock, he got a flavour of Formula E, and took to the grid before the race start.

While on the grid, he praised its format, racing and drivers, many of whom he raced against in his successful junior career.

“This is the first ever [Formula E] race I’ve been to and I’m excited,” Norris said to Formula E.

“There are a lot of guys that I know racing here and the racing’s always good to watch, always chaos, always carnage and always unpredictable – everything you want from racing.

“I grew up with a lot of these guys or I raced with them. The level of drivers you have here is top – it’s as good as you get.

Lando Norris to participate rather than watch?

Norris then revealed an allure to Formula E, teasing that he wants “do a bit of driving in a Formula E car”.

“You’re watching a series that has top class athletes, some of the best in the world – it’s something I enjoy watching and being a part of.

“I was planning to do a bit of driving in a Formula E car at some point. I’ve spoken to Jake [Dennis] and a few of the other guys who’ve driven here.

“Not everything correlates between the two [F1 and FE] but there are always things you can learn by speaking to and listening to drivers that are at the top of this category.”

Norris’ attendance at the Monaco Grand Prix gave Formula E exposure it will lap up. Should Norris follow through on his ambition, this endorsement will aid the series as it continues to grow and prepare for the GEN4 era.
