Mercedes has revealed its livery for the W16 challenger with George Russell set to lead the team into the 2025 Formula 1 season.
The German squad lines up with Russell and Andrea Kimi Antonelli for the upcoming season after the departure of Lewis Hamilton to Ferrari.
Unveiled at the F1 75 Live event at London’s O2 Arena, Mercedes has stuck with its traditional colour scheme of black and silver mixed with the turquoise Petronas branded stripes.
The gradient between black and silver is more profound this year as Mercedes has gone with a similar livery design to that of 2024.
A spokesperson for Mercedes admitted before the event that the INEOS branding on this season’s car would be less prominent.
However, after the reveal, the INEOS red was missing from the 2025 Mercedes F1 challenger.
The actual design of the car will not be unveiled until the team’s launch on 24 February, with pictures set to be released online before a shakedown in Bahrain the following day.
Team Principal Toto Wolff hopes to secure the team’s first championship victory since 2021, after three seasons with no success in both standings.
Mercedes finished fourth in last season’s Constructors’ Standings on 468 points.

Speaking to the media before the event, Russell admitted that his toxic feud with Max Verstappen last season overstepped the mark as he is prepared to draw a line under his dispute with the Red Bull driver.
The British driver was victorious twice in 2024, finishing sixth in the Drivers’ Standings.
Antonelli is one of six rookies on the 2025 grid and one of four drivers graduating directly from Formula 2 this season.
The 18-year-old makes the step up to the Silver Arrows for his debut season in F1.
