Red Bull has hinted there will be a tweak to the team’s livery for the 2025 Formula 1 season in response to a past request from reigning World Champion Max Verstappen.
The Austrian squad’s design has remained unchanged since it adopted a matte finish in 2016, the campaign which saw Verstappen promoted to the senior squad mid-season.
However, the Dutchman, who has won the past five titles, admitted once last season drew to a close that he was holding out hope that Red Bull would mix things up.
“The livery, I hope it’s a bit different, we’ve had so many matte-blue cars, but I think sometimes it’s just nice to spice it up a little bit,” he said in December.
Red Bull will unveil the livery that will adorn its 2025 challenger alongside the other nine sides at the upcoming F1 75 season launch event at the O2 in London on February 18.
With one week to go until the occasion, Red Bull posted a teaser clip which appeared to suggest that an alternative shade of blue could be used as the base colour in 2025.
The RB21 will be unveiled at a shakedown prior to pre-season testing in Bahrain as Red Bull has chosen to break with tradition and not hold one in advance at Silverstone.
Meanwhile, Red Bull might have revealed the race overalls that its drivers will wear in a post celebrating Liam Lawson, who will partner Verstappen this season, turning 23.
The overalls look to be the same other than a deep red line running along the arm and down the waist, with new partner Gate.io situated above the Honda logo on the chest.
