Enea Bastianini has split from long-term manager Carlo Pernat amid uncertainty surrounding the future of his new Tech3 KTM MotoGP team.
Bastianini joined the KTM after losing his Ducati ride to Marc Marquez, but following the manufacturer’s financial difficulties, there has been concern over whether its teams will line up on the MotoGP grid in 2025.
The Italian has been managed by Pernat for many years as the Rimini native progressed from winning the Moto2 championship to a factory Ducati ride.
Pernat has also managed many successful MotoGP clients before Bastianini including Valentino Rossi, Loris Capirossi, Marco Simoncelli and Andrea Iannone.
Pernat admitted they may have signed with KTM too quickly given the recent news about the financial crisis and the departure of key team personnel.
Rumours also suggest that Bastianini signed for the Tech3 team on a relatively small financial deal.
Bastianini will now be managed by Enrico Zacarini’s MSM Group, which has had clients such as Eddie Irvine and Jacques Villenueve
Zacarini is also the current manager of Max Biaggi, another former client of Pernat.
“The partnership with MSM marks a new and promising phase in my career,” Bastianini said in a press release.
“With MSM’s experience and support, I am sure we will achieve great results.
“As the start of the 2025 MotoGP season approaches, I am more determined than ever to compete at the highest level.
Zacarini added: “Enea’s determination to compete at the highest level perfectly aligns with our vision.
“We are excited to support him in his pursuit of excellence.”
Despite the pair’s split, Pernat will still appear in the MotoGP paddock as he is the manager of Moto2 rider Tony Arbolino and works with the Gresini Ducati team as a sports consultant.
