United Autosports has re-signed Paul di Resta and Ben Hanley for the team’s second consecutive IMSA SportsCar Championship campaign in 2025.
The Anglo-American team has confirmed a third driver for the 2025 season which commences on 25-26 January at Daytona.
Paul di Resta will co-drive the #22 Oreca 07 LMP2 with Daniel Goldburg for the full 2025 season.
He will prioritise his Peugeot Hypercar duties at a single clash between IMSA’s Chevrolet Grand Prix and the WEC’s 6 Hours of Sao Paulo on 13 July.
Meanwhile former 24 Hours of Daytona LMP2 winner Ben Hanley will pilot the #2 Oreca for the full-season with his unconfirmed co-driver.
“I am very happy to be racing alongside Daniel next year,” said Di Resta.
“I think it was a huge ask for Daniel [Goldburg] to step into racing against guys who have been in LMP2 for a very long time … and he held his head high.
Second year round, there’s no hiding behind any sliding doors now – but with Daniel’s progression, the way the team has integrated itself into the US, and some new driver announcements, the foundations look very strong.
We’re definitely going to mean business when we line up to start this championship in Daytona … right through to the last lap in Atlanta.”
“It’s fantastic to be back for another season with the team,” added Hanley.
“We showed great pace pretty much everywhere … we had some bad luck in certain races, but the win at Road America proved what we are capable of.
“With all that we’ve learned this year, we will be aiming to take more victories and ultimately go for the championship.”
United Autosports looking for more after first season
United Autosports completed their first full-season IMSA campaign during 2024.
During the 2025 schedule, as an LMP2 team, United will take part in seven rounds including two sprint races.
They have won multiple championships across their other notable efforts in the WEC and European Le Mans Series.
Di Resta will take on his eighth consecutive season as a driver for United Autosports and his second in IMSA.
Hanley is a five-time IMSA race winner and will start his 20th race at Daytona next year as the first driver announced in the #2 entrant.
United Autosports’ CEO Richard Dean added: “Paul and Ben are two incredibly talented racing drivers who we are very fortunate to work with year after year.
“Heading into 2025, with a full IMSA season under our belts, the drive to win … and win consistently … is even stronger – and when you’re pushing for that level of success, Ben and Paul are two formidable forces to have on your side.”
The remaining drivers to be announced include Hanley’s co-driver in the #2, the Endurance Cup drivers in both the #2 and #22, plus the fourth drivers in each car who will solely contest the 24 Hours of Daytona season-opener.
