Oliver Goethe has confirmed that he will stay with the MP Motorsport team in 2025 for his first full season in Formula 2.
The Red Bull junior racing driver started the year with Campos Racing in the Formula 3 championship, with one victory in 18 races.
Goethe debuted in F2, replacing the outgoing Formula 1-bound Franco Colapinto, at the Italian Grand Prix after retiring on the opening lap due to a collision.
Most recently, the 20-year-old scored his first points in the championship, finishing fourth behind Gabriel Bortoleto in the Feature race.
Goethe has raced for the Dutch team before in the Spanish F4 Championship and the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine (FRECA)
He first featured in the F3 championship two years ago, racing for Campos in Hungary and Spa, before competing in his first full season in the series with Trident last year.
Now, Goethe will continue to race alongside the newly recruited Richard Verschoor, the four-time F2 race winner, for the 2025 season.
“I’m truly delighted to continue with MP Motorsport in 2025”, said Goethe.
“It’s the logical thing to do – my four F2 rounds with MP this season will provide me with valuable experience working with the team and with Richard too, as we use that as a stepping stone towards next year’s full-season Formula 2 effort together.
“I’ve enjoyed many good times with the team when I started out in single-seaters five years ago, and on my return at Monza, I was made to feel at home immediately.
“I can’t wait to go racing one more time in Abu Dhabi before preparing for our 2025 challenge.”
