Juncos Hollinger Racing announced on Monday that it has hired David Brown as its new Technical Director for the upcoming 2025 NTT IndyCar Series season.
Brown has had an extensive career in motorsports, beginning back in 1981 when he joined the Williams Formula 1 team.
He worked as a race engineer alongside legendary drivers such as Nigel Mansell, David Coulthard, and Ayrton Senna while making a name for himself in the paddock.
Brown has also worked at the McLaren and Jordan F1 teams in years past, and has also expanded his skillset by spending time in the American Le Mans Series and IMSA.
“I’m delighted to accept this opportunity and look forward to working with the team,” said Brown. “The NTT IndyCar Series is fiercely competitive, and it’s a challenge I am ready to embrace.”
Brown’s new challenge in IndyCar will see him attempt to bring Juncos Hollinger Racing more consistently into the top half of the field as it employs a new set of drivers.
He will not have the benefit of a technical partnership with Arrow McLaren, as that agreement was dissolved mid-season due to poor optics surrounding JHR’s Argentinian driver Agustin Canapino.
The announcement confirmed that Yves Touron, who had served previously in the Technical Director role, has departed the team.
“I’m excited to welcome David to Juncos Hollinger Racing,” said Brad Hollinger, co-owner of JHR. “His presence reinforces our commitment to continued advancement on the technical side of the team. His vast experience in F1, as well as other forms of motorsport, will benefit the team from day one.
“I also want to thank Yves for his significant contributions to JHR and wish him a fulfilling and prosperous future.”
JHR will have Sting Ray Robb in one of its two cars for 2025, with the second driver yet to be announced.
