McLaren driver Lando Norris took pole position in Sprint Qualifying for the Formula 1 Qatar Grand Prix ahead of Mercedes’ George Russell.
Norris bounced back from the disappointment of Las Vegas to take pole for the Sprint race in Qatar.
His first lap time of 1:21.012s was enough to beat Russell who was 0.063s off from taking pole.
The other McLaren of Oscar Piastri rounded off the top three after he failed to improve on his first flying lap.
Carlos Sainz qualified in fourth ahead of his Ferrari team-mate Charles Leclerc.
The advantage goes to McLaren heading into Saturday’s Sprint race as the team looks to seal the Constructors’ Championship before the final race at Abu Dhabi.

The newly crowned F1 World Champion Max Verstappen will start the Sprint race in sixth ahead of Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton.
Pierre Gasly qualified eighth for Alpine ahead of its midfield rivals, Nico Hulkenberg in ninth for Haas and Liam Lawson rounding off the top 10 for RB.
Lawson had a lap time deleted at the end after he originally set a lap time good enough for ninth.
Sergio Perez in the other Red Bull was knocked out in SQ1 after another disappointing Qualifying session for the Mexican driver.
