Dani Pedrosa has signed a new one-year deal to remain as the official Red Bull KTM MotoGP test rider for the 2025 season.
Pedrosa joined KTM in 2019 following his MotoGP retirement and has helped develop the Austrian manufacturer’s bike into a race winning machine.
The Spaniard has also made four successful wildcard appearances for Red Bull KTM, including a podium finish in the Sprint race at Jerez earlier this season.
The Austrian manufacturer is still seeking its first victory since the Thai Grand Prix in 2022 and are continuing with Pedrosa as its development rider in an effort to build a strong bike for next campaign.
“It’s a pleasure to take our journey into another year,” said Pedrosa in KTM’s press release.
“We know where we need to make improvements, and the effort of the whole factory has not eased at all in making the best bike for the riders to perform on track.
“I’m looking forward to what we can do for 2025 and the ideas that will come along.”
Pedrosa’s contribution to the KTM development programme is “vital” according to KTM Motorsport Manager Pit Beirer, who made it clear that the intent is to develop a bike that is capable of winning races once more.
“This was a straightforward decision for both parties and that’s a good sign of a strong relationship and trust,” stated KTM’s Beirer.
“We really believe in what Dani brings to our MotoGP program on different levels, not only in the saddle of the next generation of the KTM RC16, and this contribution is vital.
“We know the turnaround we are seeking will come and with Dani as part of the team it will only arrive quicker.”
