António Félix da Costa has gone fastest in the first session of the FIA Formula E pre-season test at Circuito de Madrid Jarama.
The TAG Heuer Porsche topped the timesheets ahead of Andretti’s Jake Dennis, with Max Günther in third for his new outfit, DS Penske.
Edoardo Mortara was fourth for Mahindra Racing, with Stoffel Vandoorne, who swapped seats with Günther to join Maserati MSG Racing, was fifth.
Nico Müller was sixth in the second Andretti, with Britain’s Jake Hughes, another new Maserati recruit, going seventh.
Reigning World Champion Pascal Wehrlein was eighth, with Jean-Eric Vergne ninth and Lucas di Grassi rounding-up the top 10 with an impressive showing in the new Lola Yamaha ABT.
Both the Jaguar TCS Racing and Nissan drivers did not run in accordance with the punishment given for breaching the financial regulations. Both teams will begin their running tomorrow.
Prior to the test, the teams and drivers stood on the grid to observe a minute’s silence in recognition of those who died in the horrific Valencia floods, which forced the test to be moved to Jarama, a former Formula 1 host.
