Jamie Chadwick and Lilou Wadoux have been announced by Jaguar TCS Racing as its drivers for the all-female FIA Formula E test in Valencia.
Chadwick is perhaps one of the most recognisable female racing drivers in the world right now. Three times a W Series Champion, she has more recenty competed in the Indy NXT series, becoming the first female driver in almost 15 years to win a race in a series, finishing 7th in the overall standings.
The Brit is no stranger to Formula E, having completed a demo run of the GEN3 car in Portland last year, as well as rookie tests with Kiro [then NIO] and with Jaguar.
She will jump back into the big cat later in 2025, in the rookies test that will take place the weekend of the Berlin E-Prix.
Chadwick said she is “very excited” to be working with the team again, adding: “Formula E is such an exciting, future-facing championship and I’m really looking forward to testing out the Jaguar I-TYPE 7.
“It will be a great opportunity to grow my relationship with the team, meet many other talented drivers and get to experience the mind-blowing technology in these cars.”
French driver Wadoux’s background largely consists of sportscars, and in 2023, became the first woman to win a World Endurance Championship race in any class, taking victory in the 6 Hours of Spa for Richard Mille Racing in the LMGTE Am class.
Wadoux said: “This will be my first time in a Formula E car and I can’t wait for the experience.”
“This test is an amazing opportunity for me to get involved in the sport, one that is so well known for inspiring the next generation, and to get women more involved in motorsports. I’m so grateful for the opportunity and look forward to getting behind the wheel of the Jaguar I-TYPE 7.”
Team Principal James Barclay was equally enthusiastic about his drivers’ opportunity, saying: “It’s fantastic to be working with Jamie Chadwick again and to welcome Lilou Wadoux into the team.
“They’ve both achieved amazing results in their careers to date and myself and the team look forward to what will be a very exciting test for FIA Formula E. I have no doubt that we have two of the best drivers joining us.
“The test provides an important opportunity to showcase this highly talented group of women drivers in the pinnacle of electric racing.
“We’re looking forward to building on our relationship with Jamie after witnessing her amazing success in W Series and recently in Indy NXT. Lilou has gone from strength-to-strength with some impressive results in WEC, IMSA and other series, so I’m really excited to work with her for the first time and see her excel in Formula E with all of us here at Jaguar TCS Racing.”
