Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz took pole position for the Formula 1 Mexico City Grand Prix with a sensational lap.
The Spanish driver was 0.225s quicker than Max Verstappen after the Red Bull driver’s first lap was deleted for track limits.
The Dutchman’s title rival Lando Norris was third and the other Ferrari of Charles Leclerc was in fourth place.
The Mercedes duo of George Russell and Lewis Hamilton finished fifth and sixth respectively.
Kevin Magnussen qualified in an impressive seventh place for Haas and Pierre Gasly was in eighth place.

Alex Albon finished in ninth place with Nico Hulkenberg rounding off the top 10.
