Louis Deletraz has announced his departure from Acura having raced in their GTP efforts since the 2023 IMSA SportsCar Championship season.
The Swiss driver announced his news on social media, marking the end of his two-year stint with Acura.
He drove the red-liveried #40 Acura ARX-06 this year in the IMSA SportsCar Championship, with the exception of driving AO Racing’s Spike the Dragon Oreca 07 at Mosport Park which did not include the GTP category.
Along with his full-season co-driver Jordan Taylor and his Endurance Cup teammate Colton Herta, they took their only 2024 win in thrilling circumstances at the 72nd running of the Sebring 12 Hours.
“As the 2024 season is over, I want to say a big thank you to Acura, HRC and Honda for the last two and half years together.
“It was a pleasure to work with you, I met many great and talented people.
“Made lots of memories and I’m glad we collected some trophies and champagne together.
“A big thank you to each person who has been involved in our project, good luck, and see you soon in the paddocks.
“News about my future soon,” he concluded in an X formerly known as Twitter post.
He recently won his third European Le Mans Series title in the Portimao season finale with co-drivers Robert Kubica and Jonny Edgar.
At the 24 Hours of Le Mans in June, Deletraz took LMP2 pole position in AO Racing’s Oreca but the team were unable to convert it to victory in the highly competitive category.
The attention is now on the 27-year-old’s next steps which could be with Wayne Taylor Racing still as they return to Cadillac machinery.
