The full Season 11 calendar has been announced by FIA Formula E as the series prepares for winter testing next month ahead of the first race in Valencia.
The announcement confirmed another 16-race season starting in November in Valencia and finishing in July in London, featuring five double-headers across the year.
A seven-week gap between Rounds Four and Five has resulted from an unconfirmed race in Thailand that eventually fell off the calendar, with efforts to replace it ending in futility.
Pascal Weirlien won the title in Season Ten, winning a dramatic Titanic battle in the final round in London against the two Jaguars, who took the Teams and Manufacturers title.
The famous Lola name will return to motorsport for the first time since 1997, partnering with ABT and Yamaha in its fledgling new era of electric racing.
A Formula E spokesman said the sport was “excited” for the year ahead, highlighting on the new markets of Miami and Tokyo as an opportunity for further growth.
“We are excited to deliver the calendar of 16 Formula E races in Season 11 that was announced earlier this year – the same number that led to record-breaking fan and broadcast audience growth globally. Across 10 events we’ll race at several long-standing favourites, with upgrades to doubleheaders in some locations and some fantastic new venues in key markets.
A new car for a new season
The new GEN3 Evo car will also make its debut this season, with Formula E aiming to capitalise, hoping to continue growing its increasing fanbase.
