MotoGP has confirmed that it will unveil a brand-new logo at the Valencia championship finale.
MotoGP’s current logo has been used throughout the new era since its introduction in 2001.
The sport will undergo another significant change as part of its rebranding mission. The new logo will be revealed after the 2024 championship finale race has concluded at 19:00 (CET).
This news follows the implementation of MotoGP’s own theme tune before races, produced by Marco Beltrami who created it for the start of the 2023 season.
Behind the scenes, the pinnacle of motorcycle racing has seen major changes to its operations. Formula 1 majority stakeholder Liberty Media acquired an 86% share of MotoGP at the start of 2024, which is on course to be completed by the end of the calendar year.
Dorna Sports states that this new logo will signal “the world” meeting “the MotoGP of tomorrow,” implying that the sport’s future is in safe hands.
The Spanish promoters collaborated with Pentagram to produce the logo, who state that the logo is “designed to reflect our rich heritage and everything the sport wants to become.”
It is reported that MotoGP has taken inspiration from “more than a year’s research across fans, riders and key people within the sport.” Dorna has listened to its fans with the ambition of answering the critical question of “what is MotoGP?”
