Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing announced Wednesday that it has signed Louis Foster to a multiyear deal with its IndyCar program.
Foster is the reigning IndyNXT series champion, dominating over the past year in the final step of the feeder series ladder.
The 21-year-old earned victory in eight of the 14 races contested, only finishing off the podium twice, and won the championship by a massive 122 points while driving for Andretti Global.
With limited seats available for next year with Andretti, Foster has found a home at RLL for his IndyCar debut in 2025.
“I am really looking forward to working with the team,” said Foster. “Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing have Indy 500 victories, obviously Bobby [Rahal] has won an Indy 500 and there is a great wealth of knowledge with the team.
“I want to thank Bobby, David and Mike for their faith in my abilities and I want to thank all my sponsors who have helped me achieve my dream of driving in IndyCar, in particular Copart.
“I can’t wait to start my IndyCar career with the team and hopefully we can have a long and successful career together.
“I’m hoping that coming off the experience gained from winning the IndyNXT championship, that will leave me in a good stance to get the ball rolling. This is where the hard work starts.
“We will start the preparations and make sure we get hit the ground running in St. Pete.”
Foster has tested an IndyCar once previously in 2023, and will be part of RLL’s pre-season testing program this winter.
He will be driving alongside veteran Graham Rahal, and one other as-yet unannounced driver as his team-mates.
The first race of his career in the premiere series will be on the streets of St. Petersburg on March 2.
